They overcomplicate the process, chase the wrong strategies, and quit before they ever gain momentum.

But guess what? Success isn’t random. There’s a formula.

And today, I’m giving you 10 brutally honest lessons that will help you build a business that actually works—and avoids all the stupid mistakes that keep most people broke.

1. Leverage Your Zone of Influence (Or Struggle Forever)

Most new network marketers make the mistake of trying to sell to complete strangers.

Bad move.

The easiest way to build fast? Start with people who already trust you.

Ask yourself:
📌 What do I already know that people ask me about?
📌 Who in my network could benefit from what I’m offering?
📌 What skills, experiences, or relationships do I already have?

Your warm market is always the best place to start. Not because you’ll recruit everyone you know (you won’t), but because people buy from people they trust.

🚀 ACTION STEP: Make a list of 10 people who already trust your opinion. Reach out—not to sell, but to start a conversation.

2. Focus on ONE Goal (And Stop Getting Distracted)

The fastest way to stay broke in network marketing?

👉 Jump from one opportunity to the next.
👉 Get caught up in shiny object syndrome.
👉 Try to do a million things at once.

Every time you switch gears, you start from zero again.

📌 Pick ONE opportunity.
📌 Pick ONE marketing strategy.
📌 Go all in for at least 90 days before switching.

🚀 ACTION STEP: Set one clear goal for the next 90 days. Write it down. Eliminate everything that doesn’t get you closer to it.

3. The Best Marketing Is a Great Product (So Stop Trying to “Convince” People)

If you constantly have to convince people to join your team or buy your product, you have a problem.

Great products and opportunities sell themselves.

Your job isn’t to convince people—it’s to find the people who already want what you’re offering.

📌 If you’re constantly getting rejected, you’re talking to the wrong people.
📌 If people don’t see the value, you’re leading with the wrong message.
📌 If people don’t stick around, you’re focusing on the wrong things.

🚀 ACTION STEP: Stop begging. Start ATTRACTING. Shift your mindset from “convincing” to finding the right people.

4. Work Backward From Your Lifestyle (Or You’ll Regret It Later)

Most people get into network marketing for time freedom…

Then end up working MORE than they did at their 9-5.

❌ They take calls 24/7.
❌ They sacrifice family time.
❌ They become slaves to their business.

The whole point of this industry is to design a life you LOVE.

So instead of just chasing money, ask yourself:
💡 How many hours do I actually want to work per week?
💡 What kind of lifestyle do I want my business to support?
💡 What kind of business structure do I need to make that happen?

🚀 ACTION STEP: Write down what your dream week looks like. Then, start building a business that actually supports it.

5. Buyers Buy Again (So Stop Chasing New Customers and Take Care of the Ones You Have)

Most network marketers spend way too much time trying to get NEW customers…

And not nearly enough time keeping and serving the ones they already have.

💡 FACT: It’s easier to sell more to existing customers than to constantly chase new ones.

📌 Take care of your team.
📌 Check in with your customers.
📌 Build relationships, not just transactions.

🚀 ACTION STEP: Make a list of your last 5 customers. Send them a quick message just to check in. No pitch. Just value.

6. Selling Is the Most Valuable Skill (So Get Good at It—Fast)

People who hate selling always struggle in network marketing.

Because guess what?

💡 Everything in life is sales.
📌 Convincing your kids to eat their veggies? Sales.
📌 Asking for a raise at work? Sales.
📌 Getting someone to watch your favorite movie? Sales.

The better you get at selling, the faster your business will grow.

🚀 ACTION STEP: Start practicing small sales. Next time you buy coffee, ask for 10% off. Get comfortable making requests.

7. Don’t “Burn the Boats” (At Least Not Yet)

The whole “quit your job and go all in” advice? Terrible.

Most people should NOT quit their jobs right away.

Instead…

📌 Block off 60 minutes per day to work on your business.
📌 Build your business on the side until it’s making consistent income.
📌 Then, when the numbers make sense, make the leap.

8. Most People Quit Too Soon (So Keep Going)

👉 They keep going when others quit.
